“When I am among the trees…
they give off such hints of gladness.
I would almost say that they save me, and daily.”
~ Mary Oliver
We are acutely aware that our Earth is suffering greatly and in need of our respect and action. On this annual celebration of Earth Day, we invite you to join us as we honor and celebrate our Earth with loving intention, prayer, and reflection. No one honored and celebrated the world more profoundly and beautifully than creation loving poet, Mary Oliver. We will listen deeply to Mary’s inspiring and challenging words and then have opportunities to respond with simple and meaningful spiritual practices to deepen our awareness and connection with Mother Earth.
Our rhythm for the day includes sacred reading and listening with selected Mary Oliver poems, brief introductions to the spiritual practices, unhurried time to reflect and respond, and an opportunity to share our reflections with one another as we celebrate our Earth. Lunch is included. Guided by Lorie Conway.
Lorie Conway is an experienced spiritual director, retreat facilitator and small group leader.
