The pandemic and its effects have challenged all of us. The people who come to us for spiritual direction might, because of what they have been through over the past few years, be feeling some grief, isolation, loneliness, anxiety, and even depression. Addictions and domestic violence have likely increased as a result of the stress. How does this affect someone’s prayer life and relationship with God? How can we, as spiritual directors, be instruments of healing?
Lecture and discussion will be included. Open to all spiritual directors. Lunch is included and guests are welcome to gather after lunch for informal discussion too. Guided by Kathleen Brown.
Kathleen Hope Brown, D.Min., teaches spiritual direction and other courses in spirituality at the Virginia Theological Union. Her doctorate in Adult Spiritual Formation is from Catholic University.
