SUMMARY:SoulCollage®
DESCRIPTION:Immerse yourself in a weekend of exploring your intuition and imagination through collage making. The SoulCollage® process invites you to browse through piles of images and magazines to find pictures which call to you. Create or expand upon your visual journal through your personal deck of collaged cards. With SoulCollage® cards\, you can illustrate your lived experiences\, personality parts\, companions and supports\, archetypal patterns\, and spiritual guides. Insights emerge as you engage in “stepping into” imagery and speaking from it in a safe and supportive community of fellow collage-creators. This retreat is open to those just beginning to work with SoulCollage®\, as well as to those experienced in using it. Instruction on the concepts and structure of the SoulCollage® technique will be provided\, while those who are already familiar with it can expand their work with collage. Facilitator Roberta Rook customizes her annual retreats with a theme that offers a further deepening of the SoulCollage® experience. Ample time will be provided for self and soul-tending through labyrinth walks\, mindful relaxation\, and exploration of the beautiful grounds of the Retreat Center. Connect with the vibrancy and renewal of the spring/summer season by “watering your soul” with SoulCollage®! Guided by Roberta Rook. \nMeals and lodging are included. Check-in begins at 4pm. There will be a brief welcome session at 5:30pm\, followed by dinner at 6pm. The retreat begins after dinner at 7pm on Friday and concludes after lunch at 1pm on Sunday. Mass will be available Sunday morning for those who wish to attend. \nRoberta Rook\, MA\, LCPC is a professional counselor with over 30 years of experience in the counseling field. For the past 25 years\, she has worked as a bereavement counselor and program coordinator for Hospice of the Chesapeake in Maryland. She has been a SoulCollage® Facilitator since 2006\, and she was a SoulCollage® Facilitator Trainer from 2008-2016. She currently leads SoulCollage® groups\, both privately and in the hospice bereavement setting.

SUMMARY:Grief Retreat
DESCRIPTION:The Revolution of Openness: Experiencing Grief and Loss in a New Era \nThe concept of grieving the loss of loved ones as a journey allows human beings to understand the healing process in stages\, with accompanying tasks\, and with needs that are both universal and unique. Yet there are many faces to grief and many ways of expressing it. Living in a post pandemic world\, grieving as we know it has changed in innumerable ways. As we continue to emerge and move into this new era of living\, our experiences of loss\, change\, and transitions — both as individuals and in communities — have been incredibly impacted. This compels us to intentionally recognize our emotions and reflect upon our experiences to heal and move forward in empowered ways. And\, in solidarity with each other\, we can bravely make steps toward openness to the powerful transformation these losses and our grief work can lead us to. \nJoin us for this one-day retreat as we gather together for deep listening\, meaningful dialogue\, and other contemplative exercises as a means of expressing our grief. Various resources will be offered to uplift participants on their journey as they consider their respective stories. Additionally\, opportunities for considering some of the sacred tasks inherent to grieving the loss of loved ones and other significant transitions will be included. Please bring along a journal for use during the retreat. Lunch is included. Guided by Gordon Creamer. \nGordon Creamer\, MA\, creator of the Mission Bridge\, currently serves as Program Director at Well for the Journey\, a spiritual wellness center in Lutherville\, MD. As a contemplative theologian and creative builder\, he has held leadership roles in healthcare programming and operations since 2001 at various assisted living\, skilled nursing\, and hospice communities. He earned a Master of Arts in Spiritual & Pastoral Care from Loyola University and a Master of Arts in Theology from the Ecumenical Institute of St. Mary’s Seminary & University. Currently\, he is a candidate for the Doctor of Ministry Program at the Ecumenical Institute. Gordon has facilitated numerous retreats and workshops that focus on creating opportunities for participants to explore and enhance their spirituality and well-being through various media and formats. He also participates as a peer group leader in the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation’s Transforming Community Program. His passions include uplifting the journey of adults\, individuals with memory impairment\, and members of the LGBTQ+ community\, as well as fostering support groups and programs for caregivers and those who are grieving losses. Trained as a spiritual director/companion\, end-of-life doula\, and Reiki practitioner\, Gordon welcomes all in discovering the spiritual life as a means of healing\, expanding\, and flourishing.
