In addition to presenting many creative contemplative retreats at our Center, Debra Donnelly-Barton is the Executive Director of the Center for Spiritual Development and she is also a Spiritual Director. Debra introduces an audio meditation below. Thank you for sharing with our community, Debra!
In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters. Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light. And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.
I am writing to you at a time when we are all shaken and many of us are afraid. And if we are not ourselves afraid, we are living in a context of fear and uncertainty. I wanted to send this meditation out to you as a gift of peace. Click the below and you will be able to hear a meditation based on the scripture above.

Thank You – not all of the meditation was audible – even though I had the volume on my laptop at 100 – but it was still very peaceful and calming.
Sorry about that. The volume worked well on our computers. Maybe try to listen on your cell phone? We’re glad that you were still able to enjoy it though.
Very calming & helpful. Thank you.
Thank you for the feedback. We’re glad that you enjoyed it. Take care.
Thank you, Debra, for this wonderful offering. .
You have had a special gift for guided meditation since I first knew you in the 1990’s, and it is a joy to hear you again! Bon Secours truly provides a special spiritual connection, even now that I live far away in Florida.
Please let me know how to find more of your guided meditations.
Blessings of health and peace to you,
Ann Hoffman
Thanks so much for your wonderful sentiments about our Center. We’ll pass this along to Debra to see if she can reach out to you to. Take care.
Thank you!
As I listened to ths meditation the window howled outside. Debra’s words remind me that even during storms and upheaval the gentle breath of God sustains me. Thank you, Debra.
Thanks so much for sharing, Linda. Blessings!
