Welcome to the Bon Secours Retreat and Conference Center!

The Bon Secours Retreat and Conference Center, a ministry of the Sisters of Bon Secours, welcomes you as our guest! In this section of our website, you will find information relevant to your stay with us. We hope that it will answer many questions you may have about our facilities and services. Should you have further questions, feel free to speak to someone at the Welcome Center between 7:30am and 9:30pm or call 410-442-3120. A security guard can be reached outside these hours at 443-510-0505.

Bookstore – Located on the lower level adjacent to the Hospitality and Dining Rooms. The Bookstore’s schedule is variable. Please stop by the Welcome Center for the schedule. Click here to learn more.

Business Services – If you require copying, fax, mailing, or other business services, the Welcome Center is available to assist between the hours of 7:30am and 9:30pm.

Bridges Magazine – Please pick up a copy of our magazine from magazine racks throughout the building. If you would like to share multiple copies with your church, business or community, please ask at the Welcome Center.

Candles – The burning of candles is only permitted in the Chapel. This is strictly enforced for the safety of our guests and resident Sisters. Battery operated candles are available in the Welcome Center.

Centennial Peace Garden – This mediation and prayer area is reached by the brick pathway in the southwest area of the property. Our Peace Pole, part of a world-wide peace project is planted at the entrance of this Zen-type garden. Click here to learn more.

Chapel – The Chapel is located on the main floor and is available for your prayer and mediation. Mass is typically celebrated at 11am Monday -Friday and at 11:45am on Sundays. Please verify the schedule by checking the calendar posted outside the Chapel though. All are welcome! Click here to learn more.

Children – In consideration of our guests’ needs for quiet, reflection, and prayer, the Center is designated as an adult environment (no children under the age of 18, except for Worship, cultural and artistic events).

Dietary Restrictions – To better serve our guests, dietary restrictions are to be submitted two weeks prior to arrival. If you submitted a dietary restriction, please check the buffet first to see if it meets your needs. If it doesn’t please introduce yourself to our Dining Staff prior at your first meal.

Fitness Center – The Fitness Center is located on the 1st floor, available for overnight guest use 6am to 10pm daily. Please visit the Welcome Center before using an equipment to sign a Release of Liability Form. Directions for safe use of the equipment and regulations are posted in the Fitness Center. Hospitality Areas – Hospitality areas with snacks and drinks for your use are on two levels of the Center. The 1st floor area is between the Patapsco & Chesapeake dining rooms. The 2nd floor room is between Potel Room and Cardinal Gibbons Room. A microwave and refrigerator is available there for your use. Please label any items that you store.

Internet – Each lodging room is internet ready. To access the internet, please use the Comcast Network. There is a public computer and printer by the Dining Rooms on the 1st Floor.

Labyrinth – Located just beyond our handicapped parking lot, guests and visitors are welcome to walk the outdoor labyrinth.Walk the Labyrinth Brochures are available at the Welcome Center. Click here to learn more about the labyrinth and other features on our grounds.

Laundry – A washer and dryer are available for your use on the 1st floor, near the Fitness Center. Irons and ironing boards are available in the 2nd Floor Luggage Storage closet.

Library – The Library is located on the 1st floor, in the South hallway. Guests may browse the collection of books to use during their stay. To respect those in the Oratory, please maintain silence while in the Library area. Click here to learn more.

Luggage – If you arrive early or are staying at the Center beyond your lodging room check-out time, our Welcome Center staff can direct you to convenient luggage storage rooms.

Meals – Meals are provided by the Food & Beverage Department and served in the Dining Rooms on the 1st floor, to the left and right of the elevator. A sign posted outside of the dining room designates room assignment. Tables are also marked for group seating. Click here to learn more about our dining facilities.
*Meal times are typically 7:30-9:00am, 12-1pm, and 6-7pm.

Parking – Visitor Parking is located to the left at the top of the drive way. Handicapped parking is next to the building. Please do not park in a parking spot reserved for Nursing Staff or Sisters of Bon Secours.

Sisters of Bon Secours, personalized brickPathway to Peace – Our brick path leads guests from the building to our Peace Garden. Personalized bricks may be purchased as a donation to the Sisters of Bon Secours and the Center. Please visit the Welcome Center or click here for more information.

Pets – For the safety of our guests, only service animals are permitted on the grounds.

Phone Use – When using your cell phone, please be respectful of other guests around you and refrain from talking on your phone at the labyrinth or peace garden.

Pond – Just behind the building, our pond is a wonderful place to relax and reflect. Please refrain from feeding the wildlife.

Pool – The outdoor pool is open in season from 10am to 8pm daily. The pool may be closed for maintenance or due to inclement weather at the discretion of the staff. This decision will be made to maintain safety for our guests. There are towels for your use on both the 2nd and 3rd floor East hallways. With no lifeguard on duty, guests use the pool at their own risk. Please stop by the Welcome Center to sign a waiver and the pool log before/after each use. The pool is not a designated silent area.

Quiet – We restrict noise as much as possible to foster a peaceful atmosphere for those seeking respite. Please be considerate and keep noise and conversations low, especially in the hallways after 10pm. Please do not use amplifiers or speakers in lodging rooms.

Recycling & Composting – Recycling and composting bins are available in all hospitality areas and in the dining rooms. All of ourcomposting paper products and plastics cups are compostable. Please help us the manage our resources properly.

Shoes – Shoes or footwear of some kind must be worn at all times when walking the building, especially within the dining rooms and hospitality areas.

Spiritual Direction – If you are seeking a spiritual director during your visit, please inquire at the Welcome Center. We maintain a list of recommended directors who use our Center for appointments. Additional fees apply. Click here to learn more.

Smoking – To maintain a safe and healthy atmosphere, this facility is smoke free. This includes vape products. Please restrict smoking to the designated smoking areas: picnic tables to the right of the building and the loading dock area to the rear of the building.

Toiletries – The Center provides shampoo, body wash and hair dryers in lodging rooms. If you have forgotten another item, stop by the Welcome Center and we will try to accommodate you.

Problems & Questions – The Welcome Center is staffed 24 hours a day. Dial 410-442-3120 to reach the staff between 7:30am and 9:30pm and the security guard between 9:30pm and 7am at 443-510-0505.
