A prayer for healing and change
Loving and merciful God, our hearts are broken. Our anger, frustration and sadness are overwhelming. We are crushed by this tragedy and loss.
We pray for the children and adults in Texas who were suddenly and violently taken from us. Give us the grace to entrust them to your everlasting care and love. Welcome them into the light of your face.
May our witness of prayer and solidarity help move our elected officials and all of us to action leading to meaningful and effective changes that promote school safety and the safety of all people from the scourge of gun violence.
We believe that you walk with us through the valley of the shadow of death. Pour out your grace and compassion on all who grieve. Surround them with your love. Free us from the tyranny of violence. Give us your peace.
