Today’s post is written by our blog editor, Jen Murphy, Manager of Marketing & Events.
As some of you may know, I’ll be leaving my position as the Manager of Marketing & Events and my last day will be Friday, December 1. This was a very tough decision to make, but I know that God is calling me to a new opportunity.
I started this blog during the early days of the pandemic when our doors were closed but we still wanted to connect with our audience, offering spiritual insights, comfort and hope in any way possible. We were all feeling so lost and alone during that time and I often recalled our faithful guests who enjoyed connecting with us at the Center and attending our retreats. We received great feedback about our little blog so I decided to continue it even after our doors reopened in July of 2020. Here we are over three years later and our readership continues to grow! Thank you for returning again and again.
It has been my absolute privilege working for the Sisters of Bon Secours, with my colleagues and with all of the RCC retreat presenters/spiritual directors/facilitators over the last 9 ½ years. Our retreat program has grown tremendously, reaching an audience that is not only much larger, but also much more diverse. I have thoroughly enjoyed putting the schedule together with our gifted presenters, working on advertising the Center and our programs and then planning the logistics for each retreat. It has been so exciting to see registrations pour in for our retreats/events and an ever-increasing number of inquiries submitted for conference groups to use our facilities. It has been even more rewarding to hear about how our staff and programs have touched guests during their stay, often providing life-changing spiritual healing and growth.
The connections that I’ve been able to make with some of our seasoned guests are treasured and I’ll really miss seeing you! I hope that you’ll continue to enjoy all that the Center has to offer for many years to come. For those of you who find the Center to be your spiritual home, may you continue to hear God’s voice during your visits and receive spiritual enrichment and healing always.
I trust that just as the Spirit has led me to my new role, the right candidate will also be led to apply for my current position at the RCC. The position is posted on our website here for anyone who may be interested in becoming part of the staff, a wonderful work family that embraces the ‘healing hospitality’ that the Sisters of Bon Secours started nearly 200 years ago. It is a true honor to have a small part in continuing their legacy through one of the many ministries they began and continue to support.
May the poems, prayers and reflections of this blog inspire you, bless you and comfort you. Most importantly, may they remind you that sometimes it’s enough to “Be still and know that I am God….Be still…Be.” (Ps. 46:10)
Blessings,
Jen

I haven’t been able to get to the center this past year, and I’m sorry I won’t get to see you one more time. I wish you success and know that you will always be remembered. Take care and good luck on your next adventure!!! Sending lots of love and hugs.
