We are thrilled to introduce to you a new retreat presenter at Bon Secours.
Rev. Sandra Dorsainvil offers a special environment to women who attend her guided retreats, given her cross-cultural lived experiences in several countries in Africa, Europe, and North America. The ministry of presence in noticing, affirming, and honoring God’s image in all who attend her retreats is a cornerstone.
Here are some testimonials which express sentiments from former retreat participants:
“I have participated in Rev. Dorsainvil’s Women Wear Many Hats retreat, and it was a divine gift that nourished my spirit deeply. She is an exceptional facilitator and expert in cultural competence, which are essential for nurturing God’s people.”
“Rev. Sandra has helped me to find my voice and reminded me to embrace the Present, which has helped me to put so much into perspective.”
On February 8th, Rev. Sandra will facilitate the Women Wear Many Hats Retreat, where she will invite participants you to share the many hats they wear as God’s beloved and embrace the Orpahs, Ruths, and Naomis in our midst as we honor humanity, gratitude, kindness, peace, and love.
Even if you cannot attend the retreat day, Rev. Sandra invites you to take a few minutes to reflect on the book of Ruth:
We read about Orpah, Ruth, and Naomi carrying many hats and responsibilities connected to their identities as wives, sisters in law, immigrants. We see that Orpah and Ruth choose to follow and not follow their mother in law, the matriarch. We encounter many cultural implications for single women and widows fending for themselves.
Which verse do you find yourself lingering on, avoiding, or going back to again and again?
Take a few minutes to imagine the table you could invite them to where peace and love overflows. How would they feel the Holy Spirit’s presence?
