Following Jesus from the Upper Room to the Empty Tomb
The question “Were you there?” generally connotes an experience of the past. However, during the 2026 Triduum Retreat, the question is addressed timelessly to our hearts. Through reflective presentations, We Will Be There with Jesus as his friends and followers who feel the depths of loss, remorse, abandonment, pain, and anguish. We accompany him on his journey from the Upper Room, through the streets of Jerusalem, to the Calvary Cross of Crucified Love. As a community in mourning, we will share our grief and loss in the darkness of a heartfelt Taize prayer experience. Ultimately, we will rejoice in jubilation and astonishment as we encounter the risen Christ.
During these three days, we will reflect on the challenges and gifts of our own life’s journey, how they have been nurtured by grace, and how they continue to call us to go deeper into the heart of God’s love for ourselves, the world, and all the communities in which we exchange our lives.
