Rooted in Growth: A Garden Journey for the Soul

Step into the garden and discover how gardening beautifully mirrors the life-enriching journey of personal growth. In this inspiring workshop, we’ll explore how both gardens and people flourish when nurtured with intention, patience, and light.

Together, we’ll uncover how a garden offers the stillness and quiet so often missing amid the noise of everyday life. Experience the grounding peace found in nature through a simple garden meditation designed to calm the mind, open the heart, and reconnect you with nature and the present moment.

Deepen both your horticultural knowledge and personal insights as we explore what it takes to become deeply rooted and thrive. Discover how healthy soil, thoughtful companions, and mindful stewardship create resilient, vibrant gardens—and how these same principles can support growth and well-being in our own lives.

You’ll also strengthen your practical gardening skills as we explore the benefits of composting, the thoughtful use of organic and synthetic fertilizers, the responsibility and wisdom of Integrated Pest Management (IPM), a trusted recipe for creating balanced potting soil, and the value and magic of companion planting.

Rooted in intention, this uplifting workshop blends practical gardening wisdom with opportunities for reflection, personal growth, and inner peace. As we pause to observe the lessons nature offers, we’ll discover the common ground between ourselves and our gardens—and how both flourish when given the right conditions to grow toward the light. Lunch is included. Guided by Joanna Compton.

Joanna Compton, owner of Growing Partners, is a Navy veteran who transitioned to the Green Industry after completing the University of Maryland’s Master Gardener program. She earned a degree in Landscape Technology and Design and holds certificates in Graphic Design, Professional Horticulture, and Herbaceous Perennials. Joanna is trained in and utilizes Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices. Joanna’s passion for gardening is evident in her dedication to crafting beautiful landscapes and sharing the many benefits of gardening in her workshops.
