At this time in your life, what challenges come to you because you believe in Jesus’ witness?
Present-day realities — personally, nationally, and globally — invite us to “testify to the Light” in the midst of darkness as Jesus did. We are often faced with the unknown and unclear, which can stir doubt, confusion, fear, or complacency. Advent is a season that invites us to embrace darkness as a way of allowing LIGHT to illuminate the truth and shine through the darkness. We believe: Jesus “came as a witness, to testify about the Light, so that all might believe through him.” (John 1:7)
We will be in stillness and reflectiveness as we contemplate the Mystery of the Incarnation and the hope and gratitude it offers us on our faith journey. May this retreat be an experience that enhances our faith journey, so we can more fully see, understand, and walk through Advent on the path of Light.
Check-in begins at 4pm. There will be a brief welcome session at 5:30pm, followed by dinner at 6pm. The retreat begins after dinner at 7pm on Friday and concludes after lunch on Sunday. Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel on Sunday morning for those who would like to attend. Guided by Sr. Sara Dwyer.
Note: This retreat has a natural flow from the Friends Day of Prayer on December 2 but adds more depth.
