In Memory of Louis – A Servant’s Heart

Mar 3, 2021

On February 19, we lost a very dear part of our Bon Secours family, Louis Vanlandingham. Louis joined our Housekeeping Department in 2017 and has been a dedicated member of our team ever since.blog, Bon Secours

In the days following his passing, staff gathered – some (safely) in person and some virtually – to celebrate the incredible man that he was. We shared stories and laughs about the inside jokes he held with so many of us, the deep love of his family, and the abundant acts of services he provided to so many. He had a unique connection to each of us, something we can now cherish.

As we talked, it became clear that each of us needed to strive to be a bit more like Louis. He always had time to make someone feel special. When he asked how you were doing, he really listened to your answer. When he offered a helping hand, you didn’t feel like an inconvenience. When he smiled, he meant it – and he was always smiling.

Louis was a man with a servant heart, a deep faith in God, of high character, a capacity for great love, and a wonderful sense of humor. We were blessed to have known him and we are better for having our lives touched by him.

Please keep Louis’s wife, Iris; his daughter, Avemaria; his grandson, Tristan; and all of his family and friends in your prayers during this difficult time.
