For our local friends, you likely know that there is major construction unfolding near our campus. While the outcome will make for smoother travel to and from Rt. 70, the two-month long road work can pose significant stress. So today we are sharing a prayer from Rev. Terry Stokes and his book Prayer for the People, Things We Didn’t Know We Could Say to God to help us navigate the traffic challenges.
For those not impacted by this particular road work, save this prayer for when you find your routine disrupted…
For When Set Routines are Dislodged
O Father whose providence accounts for all the vicissitudes of our lives, thou hast helped us to construct routines which engender good habits, take much of the guesswork out of our daily movements, and anchor us when other things are in flux. Yet now we lament our loss of this stability. Kindly protect our mental health in this time. Give us creativity and discipline to construct new routines which retain much from before and even form us in new ways. Make us as consistent in our sleeping, eating, working, and loving as possible, as we lean on Jesus Christ our solid rock, who reigns with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
If you are traveling to Bon Secours between now and late-August, we hope you find this traffic notice helpful.
