Breathe In, Stress Out – Summertime is the peak season for travel, camps, graduations, weddings, family reunions and so much more. But along with the joys of summer come new stresses like missed flights, long layovers, transporting kids to camp and back, and more daylight leading to longer days of work with little rest. This retreat will provide participants with a mental, physical, and spiritual respite to reset. We will identify and discuss common stressors and strategies for improving body awareness through interoception which helps you understand and feel what’s going on inside your body. For instance, you know if your heart is beating fast or if you need to breathe more deeply. We will use various mindfulness practices such as yoga, meditation, breath work, and expressive writing to breathe more deeply and to live with more balance and harmony in every season.
Participants will be provided with various wellness materials during this retreat. Please bring a pen, notepad/journal, yoga mat, a small pillow, and a blanket for use during the retreat. The retreat day includes lunch. Guided by Sherrell Moore-Tucker.
